As general contractor, Infinity is constructing this 2-story structure with a partial basement. Exterior is brick with cement board siding. Wood truss roof framing. Scope included 4-apparatus bays on ground floor of the building enough for 8 vehicles. The 2nd floor includes an EMS treatment/triage room, a watch room, community training rooms, 10-dorm rooms with a private patio, offices , kitchen, a physical training room, restrooms, sterile room, medical equipment, and a cleaning room. Firefighter training amenities include a 3-story training tower, training manholes, sprinkler rises, and several interior and exterior window openings designed for training exercises. This project replaces the current station built in the 1950s.
The existing property had wetlands which the City attempted to mitigate before construction began. The site however retains a high-water table which required constant de-watering during foundation. Some soils export have been necessary, they were unsuitable for re-use as fill. The project bidding achieved 19.8% in diverse subcontracting participation.
