As general contractor, Infinity was responsible to manage the overall project schedule and coordinate all prime trade contractors. This new 41,000-sf, 1 and 1/2 story, steel frame building includes composite decks, metal panels, wood/stone veneer and a TPO roof. About 40% of the exterior envelope is glass. The project is in a park-like setting with a bike path and designated wetlands. A raised access floor throughout distributes all data, heating, cooling and electrical cables below patrons allowing for a very clean interior look. Its state of the art technology includes 62-public access computers, plug and play electrical systems, natural light monitors and a lighting control systems for daylight harvesting. Its functional areas include four individual quiet study rooms, a resource room, story time room, teen room, children’s play area, café and technology learning center. This project received LEED® Silver certification.
Infinity completed this fast-tracked project on-time in just under 12-months and within $30,000 of the original budget. This was our third consecutive project for the Cuyahoga County Public Library.
