New Medical Office Building

Project details

Infinity competed as a General Contractor to secure this project which was then converted to a Construction Management At Risk project. Ground up new building for a private practice physician. This is a new 1-story, steel frame, ceramic tile exterior structure. Scope included exam rooms, two operating rooms with Steris booms, three recovery rooms, lunch/beak room, reception area and business offices. Systems include medical gases, nurse call, access door card readers and cameras, and backup power generator. Exterior scope included new 40-car surface parking lot, enclosure for generator/transformer, retention pond, and a monument sign.

After bidding, the project was significantly over budget. At this point the Owner selected Infinity to work with the architect to bring the project back into budget. Over the next 12 months of preconstruction estimating and options analysis, we arrived at a design that met the Owner’s requirements. Upon construction, we discovered that soils were filled with debris that required removal. Wet soils also required de-watering, and 12″  of soil stabilization agents. Achieved 30.9% diverse subcontracting participation. Despite starting more than one year after the original project start date, the project completed on time within 2% of the original budget.
