This project in Parma, Ohio t is a scenario-based Training Village for use by the Tri-C Police and Fire Academies, as well as external municipal police and fire departments. Site work includes earthwork, utilities, concrete paving, lighting, landscaping and security cameras. New construction includes 6 buildings. A new 14,300-sf Training Center includes a training simulator, conference rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, instructional spaces, a mock 911 call center and the Training Village control room. LEED certification is being pursued for the Training Center only.
A new 16,110-sf mock training village including (3) mock commercial buildings and (1) mock residence with minimal finishes and movable interior wall system to create different training scenarios. Each mock building will have an HVAC system, electrical/lighting and technology. Two (2) buildings will have smoke distribution and exhaust systems. The project also includes a 3,230-sf expansion of the existing occupied Fire House and minor renovations to the existing Crile Building. Site work includes earthwork, utilities, concrete paving, lighting, landscaping and security cameras.
The Owner authorized Infinity to perform preconstruction services on this general contracting project to prepare early bid packages for earthwork/site utilities concrete/rebar, precast, masonry/rebar, steel, and underground plumbing. The project completed under a Project Labor Agreement (PLA). The project site is an old dump and wetlands area. Due to a high-water table the project required constant de-watering during construction of the foundations. The very tight site also required close daily coordination with the owner who continued to operate its safety officer obstacle training course that ran through the construction site for the duration.
