Infinity served as General Contractor to construct this new Cancer Center adjacent to existing hospital. Infinity removed entire overhead power, tele/data and fiber service to existing hospital. All new services were installed underground with numerous multi-level conduit banks encased in concrete. The existing building had to be temporarily fed while constructing the new building. This work required an entire hospital shutdown to switch feeders from the old switchgear to new switchgear since non-redundant systems were installed. A new substation was installed in the basement of the new building to feed all existing buildings and panels.
This project required 50+ major shutdowns and 100+ minor shutdowns to switch old and new panels as power distribution was relocated from existing hospital to the new building substation. Infinity self-performed rough and finish carpentry. We secured union target funds allowing the carpentry work at prevailing wages below the current union rates. The project also encountered a surprise OSHA inspection which completed with no violations. BIM clash coordination was also a part of our scope of work.Owner’s budget.
