Warrensville Heights Branch Library

Project details

As general contractor, Infinity was responsible to manage the overall project schedule and coordinate all prime trade contractors.  This new 27,498-sf building is a single-story structure that reflects an innovative approach to floor plan flexibility.  It maximizes the use of glass to create transparency for visual control.  It incorporates raised floor systems for flexible technology and highly efficient air distribution.  A unique functional space in this library is a recording studio.   This library is co-located on the same site as a new YMCA facility, creating a new civic destination point for this community. The Library and YMCA coordinate site features, orientation, and a unified frontage along the main road. This project received LEED® Silver certification.

Severe winter weather required installation of the roof in sections using a heated tarp. Weather also necessitated delaying install of the top coat of asphalt on the parking lot paving from late fall to early spring. The roof design called for a custom fiberglass trim which required early purchase due to the long-lead fabrication time. Still these materials were the last to arrive on site and required Saturday off-shift work to meet the grand opening date.  Infinity completed this project within $2,000 of the original budget and returned $123,929 in unspent contingency.  This project completed  on a shared site with the City’s new $10 million YMCA which Infinity completed simultaneously  Construction Manager
