Woodmere Police and Fire Station Renovation

Project details

Infinity served as Construction Manager to complete a two-phased renovation of the Village Hall.  Phase I was a gut demolition of the north 1/3 of the building, approximately 2,270-sf to renovate a former garage space.  The project added a 1,069-sf mezzanine in that area for the Police Department to occupy.    Phase II is renovation of 3,075-sf vacated by the Police Department to accommodate expansion fo the Fire Department.   We also made cosmetic renovations to 535-sf includeing a new build-in lobby and reception area.

 

Infinity joined the project at the start of design, delivering several months of preconstruction services to help three City Departments achieve consensus about scope priorities within a limited budget.

The construction took place in the fully occupied Village Hall.  The very tight site required detailed logistics to allow safety vehicle to move through and around the construction site with minimal disruption.  Both phases of work encountered unknown underground conditions requiring exensive utility relocation.  The project also corrected several building code deficiences that were added to the project scope.  Due to a Federal grant that paid for a portion of the total project costs, Infinity had to fast-track a portion of the scope before design was complete to spend funds before the end of 2018, when the grant was to expire.  Project achieved 58% diverse subcontracting particpation.
